We are always down for a healthy swap. This recipe makes a caramel-like dip out of dates packed with our nutrient-dense spirulina. Hints of cinnamon and ginger add the perfect spice blend. All you need is sliced fruit (we go for apples) for a healthy snack that will savor any sweet tooth.
Makes about 1 cup
Ingredients
24 dates, pitted
Water (for soaking)
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 tablespoon We Are The New Farmers’ Spirulina
Instructions
1. Soak dates in a bowl of cold water for fifteen minutes to tenderize the fruit
2. Drain the dates, reserving some of the soaking liquid, and place them in a blender or food processor with the cinnamon, ginger, and spirulina
3. Blend until smooth, adding the date water as necessary to ensure a smooth consistency
4. Serve with fruit, pretzels, or other healthy snacks. Enjoy!
